So… After that Island Cove incident, panay ang kwento ko sa mga ka-team mates ko about Pag-Ibig. Di ko na matandaan kung paano ko siya ikinwento, pero I’m pretty much sure may kasamang kilig. I’ll walk away from my station to get coffee or to pee, and as soon as I come back, may chocolate na naghihintay sa table ko.

If I remember it correctly, the first chocolate that I received was a Ferrero. Yung tatluhan. :)

I’ve never received a chocolate from a guy… ever (yeah I know, I’m a sucker. haha!), until that time. Kaya naman I was really really happy! Sinimulan ko na ring ikwento siya sa nanay ko, na natatawa na lang sa akin. Ang mga teammates ko naman, panay ang kantyaw, but I was really happy.

Malapit nang matapos ang summer noon, kaya naman nagdecide ang team na mag-team building kami sa beach. Never pa akong nakakapunta sa beach, and that will be my first time. Sobrang excited ako, nang may magpropose:

“Muning, bakit hindi mo ayain si Pag-ibig?”

Syempre, natigilan ako at nagdalawang-isip.

He’s a nice person, but I didn’t know him that much. I mean, wala pang isang buwan mula nung magkakilala kami. On the other hand, exciting siguro na makasama siya with the team, and to share my first beach experience.

At dahil I seldom back out from a dare, I walked to his station, poked him on his shoulder, and said:

“Uhm, may team building kami sa katapusan… Gusto sana namin ikaw ayain. Pwede ka ba?”

I literally saw his face light up, but I can tell he was kinda suprised with the invitation as well. He asked me:

“Kelan?”

I gave him the details. We talked for a while. And as soon as I approached my team mates, I said:

“Sama daw sya”

Dumating ang May 29. We went to Dorothy Beach in Morong, Bataan. I literally jumped out from the van and headed to the beach as soon as we parked. Ang ganda ng beach, sobra! 

And then we had activities done. I was too absorbed with my first beach experience (yeah, I’m selfish, I know), kaya I was not with John all the time. Pero he seemed to be at ease… I guess. We were partying when we noticed that he’s gone. Yun pala, nakatulog!

But he woke just in time for the team games.

Most of you guys probably know that I used to keep a blog about my everyday life and love… but mostly it’s all about my wailing because of a lost love. I’ve deleted that blog, by the way. I really sounded like a psychopath back then!

Dapat sana matutulog na ‘ko dahil may pasok bukas, pero di ako makatulog. Parang may something na naguudyok sa akin na sumulat ulit.

This time, it’s not about my lost love, but how I came to find love again. (ohyea sa cliché!)

At dahil idol ko si Ma’am Daye, I will divide this story into parts. Ohaoha.

Part One - Here goes!

I can vividly remember how I came to meet him. We were at Island Cove last May 1 (or was it May 2?) para sa 5th CVG CMW summer outing/anniversary and I saw him talking with another agent about beef jerky… in English! Although I was with my friends Coach Muy and Jen at that time, I can’t help but to stare at him.

Out of the blue, bumanat si Coach Muy ng

“John… Si Monmon oh. Uyyyy~…”

Syempre parehas kaming natigilan at “poker faced”. (Kunwari wala lang, hahaha!)

Since ala akong kasamang teammate noon, no choice ako kung hindi sumama sa kanilang group. The team’s a very nice bunch of people, and I made a lot of new friends… including him.

After exploring the wonders of Island Cove, we headed for the pool. I’m not really sure where he is at that time. But at the poolside, I was daintily (daintily as I’ll ever be… oha!) sitting by the poolside when he approached me. He was wearing this white sleeveless shirt and googles, and he’s so damn wet… from swimming, of course. He extended his right hand to me and said…

“Hi, I’m John!”

Syempre kunwari pa-demure ako. Sabi ko,

“Uhm… I’m Monica”

…sabay abot ng kamay ko for a handshake.

He asked me about my SRs. Not too much, I guess I told him.

I asked him about his age. Feeling ko kasi antanda na nya… mga 25-26, na sinabi ko rin sa kanya. I was wrong, he’s around 21 at that time, and I’m turning 21 the following month.

What triggered my interest was when I found out that we’re batchmates at PUP. BAPr sya, BPAG naman ako. Syempre, pag galing sa PUP, feeling ko kakampi ko… Kumbaga sa isang OFW, para kang nakakita ng kababayan.

So we talked. Di ko matanggap na SAMASA ang binoboto nya, kasi nga I ran under Kilos!. Sabi nya, mas may dating daw sila. I was willing to engage in a heated debate, but that ain’t a good way to start a friendship, isn’t it?

And we talked about things that I already forgot. Probably they’re just trivial things. He’s really got good conversational skills. Probably our comm coaches are so freakin’ proud of this guy, I thought.

Magkatabi pa nga kami sa bus paguwi. Found out that he’s an anime person as well. Pinakitaan pa nya ako ng mga anime pics sa phone nya. At nagtatagalog naman pala sya… Plus… yeah I have to admit… MEDYO na- cute-an ako sa kanya. MEDYO lang, OK?

As a flirting tactic, I let him have one of my earphones so that he can listen to what I’m listening to. And I “slept” along the way. A gentleman that he is, he stayed still in his seat. J

Nanghinayang pa nga ako kasi I found out that though he’s also from Bulacan, taga San Jose Del Monte pala sya. It means magkaiba kami ng biyahe pauwi.

Ang aming parting words sa isa’t isa: “See you around.”

At mula noon, tinawag ko na syang… PAG-IBIG.

Syempre, gusto ko syang bigyan ng something special.

Sooo… nagresearch ako.

Ayon kay John at Paolo (boyfriend ni Cai), mahilig sya sa chocolates.

So i made this:

I decided to make a no-bake, mini version. 

Eto ang mga ingredients:

1-2 pieces Baker’s Fair Mamon, large 

16 fingers KitKat (bale 4 na apatan)

2-3 balot ng Nips Milk Chocolate or Nips Peanut (di ko alam kung ilang grams yun, pero basta yung rectangle na malapad ang balot)

Krim Stix Chocolate (substitute: peanut butter)

teaspoon/small bread knife

1 yard super cute na ribbon

Small platito, mga kasinglaki ng donut ang diameter (sorry, im not good with numbers kaya I can’t provide the diameter)

It is IMPORTANT for you to follow these steps IN ORDER, ok?

1. Kunin ang platito at ipatong ang mamon.

2. Pahiran ng Krim Stix or peanut butter ang gilid ng mamon. Dito didikit ang KitKat. 

3. Pag mejo dumikit na, itali na ang ribbon. Pag di mo ginawa, magiging mabuway ang KitKat pag sinalin mo na ang Nips. Tatumbling ang mga chocolates mo, sige ka.

4. Dahan-dahang isalin ang Nips. 

5. Top with a birthday candle or a small design. Refrigerate pero wag sa freezer.

Voila! You’re done! Siguro mga 15-20 minutes ka dito, depende kung gano ka ka-OC.

Ingredients: Mga 200-300 lahat.

Expression on your loved one’s face upon seeing your labor of love: Priceless. :)

Suggestions:

1. Work in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. 

2. Ingredient Alternatives: 

- Pwede ang M&Ms kung mayaman ka. 

- Wag nang atimin na gumamit ng choko-choko stick, masyado kasi syang    thick. Madidismaya ka lang.

3. Wag masyado diinan ang hawak sa KitKat, baka matunaw sa daliri mo.

4. Arrange all ingredients within reach para mabilis kang gumawa.

5. Take pictures!
